The difference between a heart open versus closed

How do I know my heart is open? Why should I make sure my heart is open? How do I get an open heart? 

We can understand the significance of what it feels like to experience the world around us with an open heart via art. An open-hearted person, thus able to consider different perspectives, will enjoy an art piece much deeper than the other. For example, when in front of a painting, an open-hearted person is capable to look between the lines of the shapes on a canvas, at the light and dark shades behind and around an object, which then, when carefully observed, will draw one into the space most people miss, don’t pay attention to. The space around objects then will create the shape, not the other way around. 

We were taught to look at objects and label them, to classify and categorize them, including other people. We label based on standards, ideas, beliefs, stereotypes, religion, dogma, and social constructs. But to an open-hearted there is no such thing…

An old face with deep wrinkles tells a story, not that the person is old; light bouncing off of a child’s eye when feeling loved is the emotion we witness, not the smile; the space between objects we see in the sky draw a true seeker deep into possibilities, not the objects themselves.

To have an open heart means you can actually see the world, other humans, situations, and circumstances with a set of eyes that sees beyond the immediate, beyond just a form, beyond the  first impression…

I should make sure my heart is open to be able to become an observer of all the beauty that is around me, sensing and feeling vibrations missed by a “closed” eye…Then I will love; I can then truly find love in all.
